    The Skoda Rapid made its debut in 1935, marking a significant milestone for the Czech automaker Skoda Auto. Skoda initially used the “Rapid” name for a version of its 1,195 cc Popular Type 920 produced between 1934 and 1935. However, starting in 1935, Skoda decided to assign the “Rapid” name to a new and larger model. This compact family car showcased Skoda’s dedication to quality craftsmanship and engineering excellence. It swiftly earned a reputation for its reliability and affordability, making it a beloved choice among European motorists during the interwar period. Production was temporarily halted during World War II but resumed in the post-war era. The Rapid continued to evolve and adapt to changing automotive trends, with the model name making periodic comebacks in Skoda’s lineup over the years. Its enduring presence on the market underlines its lasting appeal.
